Undercard bout

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Roland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stretch Morbid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morbid is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Fight song. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Roland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stretch Morbid!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morbid drives through with a takedown into guard.

Roland has an active guard here but Morbid has managed to pass into half guard.

Morbid has hold of Roland's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roland manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikon Holm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Foster!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster gets caught flat footed, as Holm shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Foster looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Holm slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Foster.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foster tries to roll over but Holm keeps him under control.
Holm is tying to control. Foster wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Holm is working for a kimura but Foster is defending it quite comfortably.
Holm scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Holm blocks the strikes from Foster.
Holm is looking to take a break and control but Foster is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Still in half guard, Holm seems content to control.
Holm moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Foster.
Foster tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Holm wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Foster swats away the attempt to clinch by Holm.
Holm shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Holm looks for a takedown but Foster sprawls well.
Holm shoots in and drives through. Foster sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikon Holm. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Holm is breathing heavily.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Holm shoots in looking for a takedown. Foster tries to sprawl out of it but Holm keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Foster manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Holm gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Foster sitting in guard here, content to control.
Foster working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Holm's head.
Foster must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Holm is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Foster has his hands clasped together but Holm extends an breaks Foster's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Holm.
