The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meningitis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Meningitis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Meningitis moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meningitis.

Meningitis takes the fight into the clinch.
Meningitis's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Smith swings wildly with an uppercut but Meningitis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith misses with a hook from the clinch.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith throws a series of punches but Meningitis avoids them all with ease.
Meningitis looks for a takedown but Smith sprawls well.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Meningitis has time to react.

Meningitis is rocked!
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Oh Meningitis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Meningitis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Smith slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Smith regains full guard. Nicely done.
Meningitis seems to have got his legs back now.
Meningitis is breathing heavily.

Meningitis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Meningitis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Meningitis's back instead.
Meningitis tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Meningitis really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Smith wants to finish this one by submission but Meningitis is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Smith.

Smith with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
