The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piranov looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cox is trying to stand.
Piranov is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Boris Piranov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cox pushes Piranov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Piranov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Shawn Ritchie had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Aslak Lappalainen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Lappalainen keeps the fight on the outside.

Lappalainen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Bringer looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Canmelianenko can't hide his disappointment, as Bringer celebrates the victory.
