Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Solrac!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conger swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Solrac looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Conger moves out of range as Solrac strikes.
Conger throws a right and a left that Solrac avoids nicely.
Conger throws a one two combo.
Conger throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Solrac.
Solrac keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice jab there from Conger.
Conger throws a right and a left that Solrac avoids nicely.
Conger looks to land a combination but Solrac avoids it well.
Solrac tries to close the distance and clinch but Conger swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Conger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Solrac's waist but Solrac gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Conger off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conger closes the distance and clinches up with Solrac, looking for a takedown. Conger pushes Solrac against the cage but Solrac circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Solrac displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Conger throws out the jab.

Conger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Conger darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Conger looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Conger throws a right and a left that Solrac avoids nicely.
Nice defenses there by Solrac.
Conger misses with a few strikes there.

Solrac looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Conger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Conger pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Conger wants to get up but he can't break Solrac's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Conger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Solrac has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Conger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Solrac, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Conger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Solrac dominated that round.

Solrac drops back looking for a leg! Conger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Conger manages to kick Solrac off! Solrac jumps back into Conger's guard.

Conger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Solrac pinned against the cage. Solrac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Solrac has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Conger.

Solrac lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Conger will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Solrac has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Conger! Can he survive? No! He's out! Solrac gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
