The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sorvino takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Sorvino avoids a kick to the body.

Persona shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sorvino's guard.
Persona loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Persona tries to free his leg and advance position but Sorvino is retaining full guard.
Persona throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sorvino works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Sorvino is looking to sinch up a triangle. Persona throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sorvino's body to avoid the submission. Sorvino has instead reached around Persona's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sorvino arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Miller wants to clinch up but Aniouz keeps it at a distance.

Miller drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Aniouz wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.
Miller lands a couple of elbows.
Miller distracts Aniouz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Aniouz wants to sweep but no luck.
Aniouz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Aniouz looking for a sweep. Not yet Aniouz, not yet.
Miller content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Aniouz has his foot on Miller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miller works his way back into a safe position though.
Aniouz is trying to control the position but Miller postures up.

Miller keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Aniouz's head.

Miller decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Miller stalks Aniouz and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Aniouz's face. Aniouz staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Sergio Aniouz has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller is looking to clinch but Aniouz is avoiding it.
Aniouz misses with a takedown

and Miller counters with a shoot takedown. Aniouz fights it but they end up in guard.
Aniouz looks gassed!
Miller wants to get up but he can't break Aniouz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Aniouz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Aniouz wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment.
Miller postures up in Aniouz's guard and throws a big left but Aniouz blocks it.

Miller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller scores with a sloppy right hand. Aniouz should have avoided that one.
Sergio Aniouz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aniouz looks to land a right hand but Miller moved out of range.
Aniouz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Aniouz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Miller fails to land with a series of punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Miller looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Aniouz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miller is staying active underneath Aniouz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aniouz works his way into side control.
Miller is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Miller wants to control but Aniouz postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Aniouz advances nicely into full mount.
Aniouz trying to control but Miller is having none of it.
Aniouz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Miller's face.
Aniouz trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Aniouz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Miller is surviving well by controlling Aniouz's body position as best he can.
Aniouz with a couple of short strikes.
Aniouz cracks Miller with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Aniouz prevents Miller from getting the reversal.
Miller in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Miller tries to reverse the position but Aniouz maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Miller has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Aniouz is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Miller. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Aniouz looking to soften up his opponent with punches.

Aniouz is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Miller has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Aniouz has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Miller taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Aniouz doesn't care though - he's delighted!
