The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jakes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jakes is looking to clinch but Balboa is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jakes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Balboa tries to clinch but Jakes is having none of it.
Jakes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balboa as he jumps to the side.

Balboa pushes Jakes up against the cage in a clinch.
Jakes jumps guard but Balboa stands there with Jakes around his waist. Jakes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rocky Balboa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Jakes.

Balboa stalks Jakes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jakes's face. Jakes staggers backwards, shaken.

and Balboa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Balboa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jakes, pushing him back against the cage.
Jakes is still on wobbly legs! Can Balboa finish him?

Zapp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Zapp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elliot has escaped the position, nice work there.
Elliot is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Zapp's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Elliot slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Zapp has eaten all the pies!

Jack Kerns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fedotenko bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Kerns comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Fedotenko falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Fedotenko was out before he hit the floor!
