La Ruso comes to the cage accompanied by Miagi's Flute. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Phantom tries to clinch but La Ruso is having none of it.
La Ruso throws a nice outside leg kick.
La Ruso throws a series of punches but Phantom moves out of range.

Phantom is on the wrong end of a nice combination from La Ruso.

La Ruso has his foot on Phantom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phantom works his way back into a safe position though.

Phantom reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Phantom taps out! nice BJJ there by La Ruso!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterwhacker connects with a nice short shot to Aronoff's temple.

That was a close second round but I would say that Derek Aronoff will probably get the nod.
