Maximus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Seau had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Maximus is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Seau Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Maximus's back instead.

Mornington Crescent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spewak tries a head kick but it misses.
Crescent tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spewak swivels and escapes.
Robb Spewak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mornington Crescent.
Crescent throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Crescent shoots in but no luck this time.
Crescent changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spewak tries to avoid it but Crescent manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spewak to the ground. Spewak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Crescent looks to land a right hand but Spewak moved out of range.
The crowd cheers as Spewak lands an impressive looking overhand right. Crescent doesn't seem phased though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spewak working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Crescent is still in real trouble! Can Spewak finish him?

Spewak decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Crescent seems to have recovered his senses.

Crescent throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spewak's waist but Spewak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Crescent off to one side.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Spewak, right into the meat.
Spewak fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Crescent on the side of the head.
Spewak cracks Crescent with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Spewak walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Crescent drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Spewak swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Crescent's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
