It looks like Maximus Pavlic has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pavlic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ryan manages to get himself to full guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ryan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ryan pushes Pavlic off but Pavlic dives into side control.

Pavlic throws an elbow but Ryan slips to the side and avoids it well.
The strikes coming from Pavlic are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Pavlic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ryan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pavlic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ryan wants to control but Pavlic postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pavlic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pavlic throws a looping overhand right but Ryan ducks down to avoid it.

Ryan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Pavlic doesn't seem bothered though.

Ryan steps into range and cracks Pavlic with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Pavlic flops backwards and Ryan dives into his guard looking to finish!

Ryan wants to stand but Pavlic has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Pavlic tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ryan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pavlic lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ryan!
Pavlic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ryan is trying to escape the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pavlic throws a wild left hand from mount and Ryan manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Pavlic not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Pavlic's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pavlic tries to close the distance and clinch but Ryan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ryan connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Pavlic shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pavlic drops back looking for a leg! Ryan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryan manages to kick Pavlic off! Pavlic jumps back into Ryan's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ryan scores with the left hand. Pavlic knows he should have avoided that one.
Pavlic is looking to clinch but Ryan is avoiding it.
Jake Ryan seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pavlic tries to clinch but Ryan moves out of range.
Pavlic shoots in but no luck this time.

Ryan stuffs the takedown.
Ryan's corner calls for a 1-2. Ryan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Ryan scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ryan cracks Pavlic with an uppercut from hell and Pavlic crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Ryan's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Oh Pavlic is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ryan gets to his feet - Pavlic follows without any prompting.
Pavlic seems to have got his legs back now.
Ryan is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Pavlic hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jake Ryan!
