The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vespa fails with the takedown.
Ketchem avoids the head kick by Vespa.
Vespa shoots in for a double leg but Ketchem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vespa stuffs the takedown attempt from Ketchem. Ketchem gets slowly back to his feet.
Ketchem changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vespa tries to avoid it but Ketchem manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vespa to the ground. Vespa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ketchem avoids the head kick by Vespa.
Vespa throws a body kick that misses.

Vespa feints and as Ketchem raises his hands in defense, Vespa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ketchem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vespa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vespa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ketchem has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vespa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Multio looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Multio is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Wells reverses the position - he's now on top in Multio's guard.
Multio seems keen to control Wells's posture.
Multio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wells is fighting to break Multio's control of his arms but Multio is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Multio is trying to control the position but Wells postures up.
Wells knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Multio on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Multio can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ken Wells will probably get the nod.
