The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws a right hand that Barda ducks under and follows up with a left that Barda also avoids with ease.
Ross looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Barda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Risal drops Maia with a right and a left! Risal comes rushing in but Maia regains his composure and manages to keep Risal in guard.
Risal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Risal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Maia isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Risal stacks Maia on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Risal!

Risal looks to land a combination but Maia avoids it well.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Risal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Risal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Risal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Risal not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Risal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
