This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Let's hope that tom has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lesnar had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Matielli is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lesnar Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Matielli's back instead.

Lesnar has got his arm under Matielli's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Matielli has spun round into Lesnar's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

After initially coming in at 171.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Filipe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Equinox swivels and escapes.
Equinox slips under a jab from Filipe .

Equinox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Filipe .
Filipe misses with a double jab.

Filipe swats away the attempt to clinch by Equinox.
Equinox bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Equinox clinches up with Filipe and pushes him back against the cage.
Equinox gets through Filipe 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Filipe can't break the clinch.
Filipe wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Equinox has him pressed against the cage.

Equinox makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Equinox closes the distance and clinches.
Equinox scores with a shoulder strike.

Equinox creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Filipe with a big uppercut! Filipe tries to clinch up but Equinox pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Filipe to the mat! Filipe covers up and Equinox unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
