The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemmer throws a looping overhand right but Deschain ducks down to avoid it.
Hemmer throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Deschain shoots in but no luck this time.
Deschain keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hemmer.

Hemmer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Deschain.
Hemmer bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Deschain! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Stryfe might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Raiden has got the better of the exchanges.

Hemler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ghita but Ghita pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hemler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ghita tries to avoid it but Hemler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ghita to the ground. Ghita escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ghita stalks Hemler and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hemler's face. Hemler staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Goto takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Goto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Paixao can pounce on him.
Goto shoots for a takedown but Paixao saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Paixao walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Goto checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Paixao throws a looping overhand right but Goto ducks down to avoid it.

Paixao scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Paixao cracks Goto with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
