The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luiz closes the distance and clinches up with Maine, looking for a takedown. Luiz pushes Maine against the ropes but Maine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Maine tries to clinch up but Luiz circles away and keeps his distance.
Luiz throws a sloppy head kick and Maine moves out of range easily.

Luiz rushes Maine and presses him up against the ropes.

Maine is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Luiz can't fight it off and eventually Maine manages to take the fight to the floor. Luiz looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
