Michaels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brophy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Michaels is going olschool here, as he tries to force Brophy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brophy shrugs it off.

Michaels tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Brophy cranks the arm and Michaels screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Michaels, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

He tries to recover but Torchertime pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Jones is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jet Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nutz shoots in for a takedown but Thompson shows good takedown defense.
Thompson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nutz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thompson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nutz's head backwards.
Thompson throws a right and a left that Nutz avoids nicely.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Nutz. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Nutz has instead reached around Thompson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nutz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Bastage misses with a few strikes there.
Bastage closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Win throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bastage's waist but Bastage gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Win off to one side.

Win swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Win looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bastage is fending him off so far but Win persists. Nope, Bastage circles away and we're back to standing.

Bastage stuffs the takedown attempt from Win. Win gets slowly back to his feet.
Bastage lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Win circles away quickly and effectively.

Bastage tries to clinch but Win is having none of it.

Bastage gets caught flat footed, as Win shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Win wants to pass the guard but Bastage is keeping the position.

Win drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bastage dives on top into guard.
Bastage wants to control from the top but Win keeps moving.

Win looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
