The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lawler pinned against the cage. Lawler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Belfort fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lawler connects with a right hand. Belfort shakes it off.
It looks like Tim Belfort has been cut.
Lawler has taken the fight to the clinch.
Belfort lands a damaging elbow.
Belfort misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lawler.
Lawler lands with a left to the head.
Lawler lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Belfort backwards.

Lawler wants to get up but he can't break Belfort's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Belfort has his foot on Lawler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lawler works his way back into a safe position though.

Belfort with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lawler to score with a decent uppercut.

Lawler cracks Belfort with an uppercut from hell and Belfort crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Lawler's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Tim Belfort's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Lawler closes the distance and pushes Belfort back into the ropes.
Lawler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lawler cracks Belfort with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
