The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Barante.
Barante really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Joroinen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Joroinen is working for a guillotine from mount but Barante frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Joroinen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Barante turns into him and now he's in Joroinen's guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cole looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vondopoulos looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swiper misses with a jab, cross combination.
Swiper throws a wild body kick that O Brien sees coming a mile off.

Swiper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. O Brien gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

O Brien is looking to take a break and control but Swiper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Swiper throws a body punch but O Brien moves out of range.

O Brien closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - O Brien lands in his opponent's guard.

Swiper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Swiper throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
O Brien looks for a takedown but Swiper sprawls well.
Swiper has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Swiper throws a front kick that sends O Brien stumbling back into the cage.
Swiper cracks O Brien with an open hand slap.
Swiper throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
O Brien will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and O Brien counters with a nice double leg into guard.

O Brien drops back, looking for a kneebar! Swiper looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Swiper looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Swiper!
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Swiper works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

O Brien is trying to escape the position but Swiper is controlling the position.
O Brien gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
O Brien tries to get to full guard but Swiper has control of the leg.

Swiper wants to take a breather but O Brien is having none of it.
O Brien is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Swiper has hold of O Brien 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and O Brien manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Donnie O Brien is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
O Brien is really struggling to control Swiper but he's trying to hold on to the position.
