riformato closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. riformato pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

riformato stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves avoids a kick to the body.
Kilares tries for a takedown but Alves sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kilares misses with a takedown attempt - Alves sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kilares tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kilares feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Alves is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kilares rolls with it to try and escape but Alves cranks on the arm and Kilares is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Silva throws a shot from downtown. Ramos moves away and avoids it.
Ramos misses with a double jab.
Ramos closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Ramos pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ramos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva tries to clinch up but Ramos circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva misses with a straight right.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

It looks like Humberto Ramos has been cut.
Ramos takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Horrible takedown by Ramos or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.
Ramos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ramos off to one side.
Wanderlei Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Humberto Ramos.
Ramos slips a straight right by Silva.
Ramos looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.
Wanderlei Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva drives through and clinches with Ramos against the cage.
Ramos on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Silva could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Silva with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Silva creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ramos's defenses.
Ramos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Ramos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ramos shoots in but no luck this time.
A telegraphed right hand from Silva misses the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
A swing and a miss from Silva.
Ramos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Ramos tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ramos looks gassed!
Ramos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Ramos drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silva wants to stand up but Ramos is controlling him.
Ramos tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramos on the ground.
Silva is looking to stand up but Ramos isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has his feet on Ramos's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ramos looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Silva. That snapped Ramos's head back.
Silva throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ramos on the side of the head.
Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Ramos is rocked!
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Donk. Silva catches Ramos right on the button with a cross.
Ramos is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Ramos uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Silva.
Ramos seems to have recovered his senses.
