Dan Monroe had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 136.0lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies throws a series of punches but Lotl avoids them all with ease.

Davies looks to land a combination but Lotl avoids it well.
Lotl moves out of range of the body kick from Davies.
Davies takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Evan Davies has been cut.

Davies takes a swing at Lotl's ribcage but misses.
Davies fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lotl takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The fighters circling - Lotl throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Lotl jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lotl lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lotl jabs Davies right on the nose. Davies blinks but takes it well.
Davies swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lotl counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Lotl fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice combo by Lotl! Oh, that's hurt him - Davies falls to the canvas and Lotl follows him into side control.

Lotl is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Davies is surviving well by controlling Lotl's body position as best he can.
Davies is controlling an arm, preventing Lotl from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Lotl is looking for the choke from the back position but Davies is controlling his hands well.

Lotl is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Davies is defending well though. Lotl let's go of the attempt for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lotl works over Davies's head and body with a nice combination.

The cut above Evan Davies's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lotl.

Evan Davies's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Davies throws a body kick that misses.
A jab-cross combination lands for Lotl and sends Davies crashing to the mat! Lotl follows him down to the mat - Davies regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Davies is still in real trouble! Can Lotl finish him?

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Evan Davies's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
