The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Patched.
Patched pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Patched throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Patched should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Patched tries to clinch but Beacon moves out of range.
Cabbage Patched seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice leg kick lands there from Patched.
A head kick misses from Patched.
Patched shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beacon as he jumps to the side.
Patched lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Beacon sprawling to the canvas. Patched follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Beacon hang on?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Patched tries to stand but can't do so whilst Beacon controls his leg.

Patched has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
No joy there for Patched, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Beacon is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Patched reverses the position - he's now on top in Beacon's guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cabbage Patched just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Patched turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
