The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakata avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Welch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nakata tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Welch wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nakata manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Welch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakata on the ground.
Welch is refusing to be controlled, as Nakata sits in half guard.

Nakata in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Welch tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nakata!

Kobayashi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Seven Samurai kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pu wants to clinch.
Kobayashi throws a chopping leg kick but Pu manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kobayashi throws a head kick that Pu semi-blocks.

Hiroshi Kobayashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pu piles on the pressure with more strikes! Kobayashi is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
