I think Gaia might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Manowar- Battle Hymn. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaia closes the distance and clinches up with Steiner, looking for a takedown. Gaia pushes Steiner against the cage but Steiner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gaia slips under a jab.

Gaia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Steiner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Gaia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Steiner has escaped the position, nice work there.
Steiner manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Steiner is looking to control Gaia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Steiner avoid being mounted?

I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Martin Gomes was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josip Ruzic.
Well Ruzic has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
