The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikkelsson misses with a series of wild punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kobayashi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice takedown defense from Mikkelsson. No joy for Kobayashi on that attempt.
Kobayashi shoots for a double leg takedown but Mikkelsson sprawls well. He's pushed Kobayashi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mikkelsson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kobayashi doesn't seem bothered though.
Mikkelsson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Kobayashi has a takedown stuffed.
Maikkel Mikkelsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Take Kobayashi.

Kobayashi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mikkelsson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mikkelsson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Kobayashi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mikkelsson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kobayashi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mikkelsson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mikkelsson tries to roll over but Kobayashi keeps him under control.

Kobayashi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Mikkelsson.

It looks like Take Kobayashi has been cut.
Kobayashi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kobayashi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Mikkelsson misses with the combination.
Mikkelsson connects with a superb combination that knocks Kobayashi out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Mikkelsson before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Kobayashi!
