The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes cracks Penncil with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Penncil looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mendes finish him?

It looks like DJ Penncil has been cut.
Penncil tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mendes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Some wild striking there from Mendes.
Penncil looks for a takedown but Mendes sprawls well.
Penncil displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mendes throws out the jab.
DJ Penncil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendes cracks Penncil with a hook to the temple - Penncil is on wobbly legs here! Mendes swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Penncil falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Mendes wins by TKO!
