Alb shoots in for a takedown but Gardeau shows good takedown defense.
Gardeau throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gardeau misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alb throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gardeau's waist but Gardeau gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alb off to one side.
Gardeau keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Alb. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alb gets a takedown into half guard.
Alb is taking a breather. Gardeau says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gardeau wants to get back to full guard.
Alb passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gardeau!
Gardeau gets back to half guard.

Alb perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Gardeau is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Alb has latched onto it... Big trouble! Alb pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Gardeau is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Alb!
