The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujinami swats away the attempt to clinch by Kuriliv.
Kuriliv throws a push kick but Fujinami slaps the foot to one side.
Fujinami shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kuriliv as he avoids it easily.
Alexander Kuriliv seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuriliv will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Fujinami closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kuriliv to the mat! Kuriliv manages to get full guard.

Mir shoots in but no luck this time.

Mir uses his free foot to push down on Fujita's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Fujita.

After initially coming in at 171.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Chernekov tests Gruber's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Hans Gruber has been cut.
Chernekov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Chernekov misses with a hook. Gruber ducked under it nicely.
Chernekov scores with a shot to the body.
Chernekov cracks Gruber with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Gruber looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Chernekov finish him?

Gruber is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chernekov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Gruber is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gruber is breathing heavily.
Chernekov feints and then cracks Gruber's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gruber down.
Gruber seems to have got his legs back now.
Chernekov throws a right hand that Gruber ducks under and follows up with a left that Gruber also avoids with ease.
Gruber ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Chernekov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Chernekov cracks Gruber on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gruber falls backwards against the ropes. Chernekov follows up with more strikes that drop Gruber to his knees. Chernekov keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gruber! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aleksandr Chernekov!
