A fine choice. Brian Welch struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welch shoots in for a takedown but Anoy shows good takedown defense.
Welch looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Anoy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Welch was covering up waiting for the punch and Anoy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anoy wants to pass the guard but Welch is keeping the position.
Anoy wants to control from the top but Welch keeps moving.
Anoy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Welch is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Anoy drops back looking for a leg! Welch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Welch manages to kick Anoy off! Anoy jumps back into Welch's guard.

Anoy throws a series of punches but Welch avoids them all with ease.

It looks like Brian Welch has been cut.
Anoy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Anoy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Welch on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Anoy has an Americana. Welch didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Anoy is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Anoy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
