Thomas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Johnson avoids it really well and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thomas was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Thomas had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Thomas Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johnson's back instead.
Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but Thomas has full control of the position and if anything, Johnson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Thomas somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Takumi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Takumi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Suigetsu controls the pace.
Takumi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Suigetsu is pushing down on Takumi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Takumi is fighting to maintain full guard but Suigetsu has managed to sneak the leg through.

That was a close second round but I would say that Akiyama Takumi will probably get the nod.

Takumi wants to work for an arm triangle but Suigetsu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Akiyama Takumi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Takumi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Suigetsu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Akiyama Takumi.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Takumi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
