The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Shinji Kurokami has been cut.
Kurokami uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cyborg.

Kurokami is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cyborg's half guard.
Cyborg pushes Kurokami off but Kurokami dives into side control.
Cyborg is pushing Kurokami's head away, looking to escape. Kurokami manages to hold on to the position though.
Kurokami wants to control but Cyborg is keeping him busy.

Kurokami decides to take the fight back to the feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cyborg throws a jab but it's blocked by Kurokami.

Kurokami changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cyborg tries to avoid it but Kurokami manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cyborg to the ground. Cyborg escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shinji Kurokami seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurokami misses with a takedown attempt - Cyborg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cyborg wants to get back to his feet but Kurokami is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Cyborg is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cyborg can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kurokami is standing up over Cyborg. Cyborg looks to escape but Kurokami dives into side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
