Kharinov thows a body shot but no joy.

Slayer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Slayer showed some decent athleticism there.
Slayer thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kharinov to regain full guard.
Slayer tries to free his leg and advance position but Kharinov is retaining full guard.

Slayer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kharinov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Slayer has Kharinov in his guard.

Slayer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kharinov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Slayer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slayer tries to buck Kharinov off but Kharinov is having none of it.

Kharinov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kharinov drops Slayer with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Slayer looks back up at him and smiles so Kharinov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
