Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Shirahama postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Masters is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shirahama, into his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shirahama lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Masters!

Booger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcpaene but Mcpaene pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mcpaene feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varsi shoots in but Ottavainen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Varsi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ottavainen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Varsi tries to bum rush Ottavainen with a series of wild strikes but Ottavainen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ottavainen throws a body kick that misses.
Varsi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ottavainen tries to land a front kick but Varsi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ottavainen tries to close the distance and clinch but Varsi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Varsi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ottavainen is looking to control Varsi's arms but Varsi gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ottavainen has his back to the cage.

Varsi has had enough of the clinch but Ottavainen keeps him there for the moment.

Varsi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Varsi walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ottavainen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Ottavainen takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Varsi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Varsi looks to land a left hand but Ottavainen moved out of range nicely.

Varsi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ottavainen.

Ottavainen is rocked!
Varsi ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Ottavainen's jaw. Ottavainen's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Varsi does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
