Svetserson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Svetserson wants it to stay on the feet.
Xavier takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Svetserson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Xavier circles away quickly and effectively.

Svetserson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Svetserson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Svetserson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Xavier to the mat! Xavier manages to get full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Xavier, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Pereira or perhaps it was just good defense by Blevins which made him look bad.
Pereira closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blevins circles away.

Blevins drops Pereira with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pereira looks back up at him and smiles so Blevins waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Ulysses Pereira has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pereira tries to close the distance and clinch but Blevins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Blevins throws a hook to the side of Pereira's head but Pereira sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Blevins throws a body punch but Pereira moves out of range.
Blevins cracks Pereira on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Pereira falls backwards against the cage. Blevins follows up with more strikes that drop Pereira to his knees. Blevins keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Pereira! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elijah Blevins!
