Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobra looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cobra prevents McGuire from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ground and pound from Cobra.
McGuire is looking for a sweep. Cobra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cobra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cobra trying to pass the guard but McGuire defending well.
McGuire is pressing down on Cobra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cobra pushes down on McGuire's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. McGuire manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

McGuire has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cobra can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McGuire utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McGuire wants to sweep but no luck.
Cobra trying to control but McGuire is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cobra trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGuire can do anything to dispel that myth.
Cobra cracks McGuire with a solid left hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Cobra.
Cobra moves out of range as McGuire strikes.
McGuire rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cobra moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Horrible takedown by Cobra or perhaps it was just good defense by McGuire which made him look bad.
McGuire throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cobra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGuire.

Cobra drives through with a takedown into guard.

McGuire wants to sweep but no luck.
Cobra loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cobra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cobra in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
McGuire has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Cobra has passed into side control.
Cobra cracks McGuire with a big elbow.
McGuire looks to move to half guard but instead Cobra has passed into mount! Damn!
McGuire is wriggling around trying to escape.

Cobra is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! McGuire is forced to tap! Great finish!
