Johnson connects with a nice cross there... Shevichenko is looking wobbly and Johnson recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Shevichenko to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Johnson jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Pain comes into the arena with "Meet the Monster" Five Finger Death Punch blaring out of the sound system. Angel Pain had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Angel Pain had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, snoork bananasplits!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
bananasplits throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Kid drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
bananasplits manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

bananasplits is looking for a kimura here.
Kid regains full guard. Nicely done.

Kid looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
bananasplits stays in close to Kid's body and controls the position.
Kid wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and bananasplits manages to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

bananasplits is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kid has managed to free his arm - good work.

bananasplits looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kid might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

bananasplits throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kid works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kid wants to stand and escape but bananasplits is having none of it.

Kid escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. bananasplits gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

bananasplits throwing strikes from guard but Kid blocks nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
bananasplits stopping the sweep attempt from Kid.

Kid escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. bananasplits gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
bananasplits won't allow Kid to sweep him here.
Kid is looking to stand up but bananasplits isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kid walks into a jab.

Kid looking to finish bananasplits with some ground and pound. This is bad for bananasplits!

bananasplits tries to lock up and control but Kid gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kid is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. bananasplits can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kid is breathing heavily.
bananasplits bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Kid wants to get back to his feet but bananasplits passes into half guard.
