The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams throws a sloppy head kick and Wilson moves out of range easily.
Adams does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Wilson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Adams was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Adams can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wilson controls the pace.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Collins wants to clinch up but Penn keeps it at a distance.

Collins jumps guard.
Penn postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Penn trying to control but Collins is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn postures up in Collins's guard and throws a big left but Collins blocks it.

Penn drops back looking for a leg! Collins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Collins manages to kick Penn off! Penn jumps back into Collins's guard.
Penn wants to stand but Collins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Collins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Collins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Collins striking off his back but it's not causing Penn any problems.
Collins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penn swats away the attempt to clinch by Collins.

Penn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Collins avoids it really well and circles away.
Penn keeps the fight on the outside.

Penn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Collins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Penn has his foot on Collins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Collins works his way back into a safe position though.

Penn had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Collins is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Penn Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Collins's back instead.

Collins is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Collins lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Collins tries to stand and escape but Penn is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Collins dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Collins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Penn's half guard.
Penn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Penn has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Collins. Oh but Penn has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Collins goes limp - he's gone! Penn jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
