The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grace looks to land a combination but Daniels avoids it well.

Grace gets a takedown into half guard.
Grace blocks the strikes from Daniels.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grace thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Daniels is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grace accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grace can do anything to dispel that myth.
