Smith tries to clinch there but Black circles away.
Black shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Black has escaped the position, nice work there.

Smith sneaks out the side door and pushes Black away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Black is proving hard to escape from.

Black isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Smith stacks Black on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Smith!

Smith has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Black is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Smith yanks on the arm and Black is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Face swivels and escapes.

Jones is breathing heavily.
Face feints and then cracks Jones's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jones down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Face dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Face moves into the clinch.
Face lands a nice elbow.
Face holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Face is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Face creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.

That has opened up Marcus Jones's cut even more.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Face walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Blood Face has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Jones.
A head kick from Face lands but Jones takes it in his stride.
Crunch! Face slams his shin into Jones's torso.
A slapping leg kick lands for Face.
Face throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Face tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Face bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Blood Face is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jones takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Face feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jones's calf.
Face looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Face.

Face buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Face smiles and moves away.
Jones's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Face is looking to control Jones's arms but Jones gets an underhook and turns him. Now Face has his back to the cage.
Face looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Face is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
