The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Welch, as that shot connected.

It looks like Gideon Kent has been cut.
Welch misses with the combination.

Kent uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Welch.
Welch digs a good body shot into Kent's ribs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Kent drops Welch with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Welch looks back up at him and smiles so Kent waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Kent keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kent is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Welch seems to have recovered his senses.

Kent flashes Welch a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Welch's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Welch crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Kent punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Tyler Meier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Meier decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Meier wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mulligan keeps working.
Meier perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mulligan is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Meier has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meier tries to roll over but Mulligan keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Meier wants to control but Mulligan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Meier closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mulligan to the mat! Mulligan manages to get full guard.

Meier looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mulligan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meier is looking to take a break and control but Mulligan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

kevler is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Johnson distracts kevler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. kevler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but kevler has wrist control.

kevler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

kevler has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Johnson wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of kevler's closed guard. He's half up but kevler has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! kevler pivots and extends the arm, Johnson falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by kevler! Well done that man!
