The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
killer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A combination from Gracie does no damage.
Gracie keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gracie misses with the combination.
killer fails with the takedown.

killer shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gracie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gracie sneaks back into half guard.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of killer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take killer's back!

He's slipped one arm under the chin. killer has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gracie has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! killer taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gracie doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Nogeuira is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. smalls is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. smalls flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Nogeuira anticipates the leg and manages to get behind smalls and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Nogeuira slips an arm under smalls chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Nogeuira has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Nogeuira is squeezing on smalls like an anaconda would it's prey. smalls fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Sweeney feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
