Baldin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Baldin showed some decent athleticism there.

Jameson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baldin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baldin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jameson wants to sweep here but Baldin controlling him for the moment.

Baldin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Baldin taps out! nice BJJ there by Jameson!

Pace has control of Lashley's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lashley regains control of the situation pretty easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lashley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pace wants to work for an arm triangle but Lashley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Castro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Finnagan as he jumps to the side.

Finnagan has Castro up against the cage in a clinch.

Finnagan manages to break the clinch.
Castro keeps the fight on the outside.
Castro keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Finnagan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Castro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Finnagan.
Finnagan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Castro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Finnagan's guard.
Finnagan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castro on the ground.

Castro is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Finnagan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Finnagan's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Finnagan is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Castro has taken his back.

Castro is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Finnagan is trying to get back to his feet but Castro has full control of the position and if anything, Finnagan has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Wilkins tries to bum rush Woodward with a series of wild strikes but Woodward uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wilkins dances in with a quick combination. Woodward is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Wilkins snaps Woodward's head back. Woodward stumbles backwards against the cage. Wilkins steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Woodward's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Woodward just didn't come prepared.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets the takedown into side control.
Kocian manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kocian with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kocian on the ground.
Jones lands a nice forearm strike.

Jones stands up and beckons Kocian to his feet.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.

Jones gets the double underhooks and looks for a takedown. He's lifted Kocian clean off his feet and slams him hard to the canvas! Kocian is out! He's out cold! The ref dives in before Jones has chance to land any unnecessary strikes.

Arska tries for a takedown but Holm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Arska scores with a nice strike.
Arska lands an overhand right.
Good shot there by Arska.
Arska is looking to clinch.
Arska displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Holm has managed to clinch.

Holm has picked Arska up - he's going for a ride! Holm dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Arska pushes Holm off looking to stand but Holm dives back in and keeps control.
Holm frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Holm is working for a guillotine from mount but Arska frees his head quite easily.
Arska really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Arska is in all sorts of trouble here.
Holm looking to control but Arska is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Holm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Arska bucks Holm off and manages to get back to his feet!

Arska darts in and clinches Holm up against the cage.

Arska tries to break the clinch but Holm is controlling the position.
Arska wants to get back to striking at distance but Holm won't allow it.
Holm really is a fat lump.

Holm breaks the clinch.
Holm tries to close the distance and clinch but Arska swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Arska throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Holm shoots and misses
and Arska connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Holm clinches with his opponent.
Holm is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Holm breaks the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Holm.
Arska misses with a double jab.

Holm drives through with a takedown into guard.
Holm is breathing heavily.
Arska controlling Holm's posture.
Arska wants to stand up but Holm is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arska can do anything to dispel that myth.

Arska is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holm is controlling him.
Holm trying to control but Arska is working from the bottom.
Holm slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Arska.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Holm shoots and misses
and Arska counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikon Holm. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Holm showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Arska.
Arska lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Arska lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Arska throws a quick inside leg kick.
Holm misses with a head kick.

Arska clinches up with Holm and pushes him back against the cage.

Holm manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Holm shoots and misses
and Arska counters with a right hand to the body.

Arska shoots in and bounces Holm off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Arska doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Holm is tightening it up a little... Arska has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Arska reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Arska taps out! nice BJJ there by Holm!
