The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
yakamoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and yakamoto wants it to stay on the feet.

yakamoto fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Smith takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Ranson has cracked Pattenson with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Ranson lands another huge swinging hook and Pattenson tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Pattenson, before Ranson can land any more shots!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Fok sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Martin's guard.
Fok is nestled in close to Martin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

DeSouza drops back looking for a leg! Acton is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acton manages to kick DeSouza off! DeSouza jumps back into Acton's guard.

Acton landing heel shots to his opponent's back. DeSouza not amused, grabs the leg and drops back, looking for a heel hook. Acton doesn't react quick enough and DeSouza cranks it - Acton screams in pain and taps out! That was a really quick submission! Impressive stuff!
