Undercard bout

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Konrad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Mallao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Konrad scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cole Konrad overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Konrad is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mallao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mallao shrugs it off.

Konrad is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Mallao is defending well though. Konrad let's go of the attempt for now.

Mallao refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mallao's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ginobili throws out a loose jab but Mo uses good head movement to avoid it.

Mo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ginobili was well out of range. Poor timing from Mo.
Sloppy strikes from Ginobili. Those never looked like landing.

Mo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ginobili.

Mo is working to tighten is grip on Ginobili's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ginobili has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mo is really squeezing tight and eventually Ginobili passes out! Mo breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Hawkey shoots in looking for a takedown. Bongo tries to sprawl out of it but Hawkey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bongo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hawkey has managed to clinch.

Bongo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bongo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Steve Hawkey has been cut.
Bongo Bongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hawkey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bongo is fending him off so far but Hawkey persists. Nope, Bongo circles away and we're back to standing.

Bongo lands a big head kick that sends Hawkey tumbling to the mat! Bongo takes a step backwards and waves Hawkey back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bongo catches Hawkey with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Hawkey forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Jabbar throws a head kick but Steiner moves out of range.
Jabbar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Steiner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Steiner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jabbar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jabbar checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Steiner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Steiner looks to land a combination but Jabbar avoids it well.

Corey Steiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Steiner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Keks connects with a nice looking jab.
Keks works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Keks goes for a small jab and connects. Now Keks goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Lloyd stumbles back but Keks runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Lloyd to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Lloyd will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
