Diaz comes into the arena with Been to Hell blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Rucinski's choice of entrance music: Lil Wayne - Drop The World ft. Eminem. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Karol Rucinski enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a wild combination.
Rucinski throws a poor cross that misses

and Diaz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Rucinski is trying to force a seperation but Diaz has the dominant position.
Rucinski tries to score a body lock takedown but Diaz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Diaz jumps guard and drags Rucinski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rucinski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Louco. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Uzoglivic lands a big head kick that sends Louco tumbling to the mat! Uzoglivic takes a step backwards and waves Louco back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Louco wants to stay close but Uzoglivic steps back to make room for something. Louco seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Uzoglivic and Louco drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Doomsday McGonigle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santino Marconi.
McGonigle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McGonigle lands a leg kick that knocks Marconi off balance momentarily.
Marconi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around McGonigle's waist but McGonigle gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marconi off to one side.

Marconi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marconi.

McGonigle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marconi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGonigle, into his guard.
Marconi throws and elbow that misses. McGonigle uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marconi's guard. Nice move by McGonigle!

A close round but Santino Marconi will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Marconi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marconi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Marconi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Marconi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, McGonigle has worked his arm free - good work by McGonigle!
McGonigle parries the strikes from Marconi easily there. Marconi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McGonigle to escape.
McGonigle is trying to escape the position but Marconi is controlling the position.

Marconi has an Americana. McGonigle didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong throws a sloppy head kick and Buffalo moves out of range easily.
Spong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buffalo is fending him off so far but Spong persists. Nope, Buffalo circles away and we're back to standing.
Spong slips a jab from Buffalo.
Buffalo misses with an uppercut
and Spong counters with an inside leg kick.
Spong misses with a body kick.
Buffalo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tyrone Spong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Buffalo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Spong - the referee stops the clock and Buffalo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Spong. Buffalo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Buffalo tries to sprawl but Spong drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Buffalo holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Buffalo is looking for a sweep. Spong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Spong looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Spong uses his free foot to push down on Buffalo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Buffalo.

Spong looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Buffalo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spong on the ground.

Hendo lands a big shot there that rocks Hashimoto but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hendo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hashimoto is in a horrible position here. Hendo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kazuo Hashimoto will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hendo is breathing heavily.
Hashimoto lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Hendo up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hashimoto from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Hendo's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
