The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Karlsen in a clinch.
Smith tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Karlsen avoids it.
Karlsen misses with an elbow over the top.

Smith is fighting off a takedown attempt but Karlsen is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Smith to the mat. Smith regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
