Hess tries for a takedown but McGuirk circles away easily
and McGuirk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McGuirk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hess as he avoids it easily.
McGuirk looks to land a combination. Hess sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Steve Hess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McGuirk feints and as Hess raises his hands in defense, McGuirk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McGuirk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hess has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McGuirk has managed to get both his arms back between Hess's legs - danger averted.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hess looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but McGuirk is defending well. Hess quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! McGuirk has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hess celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
