The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotiropoulos wants to clinch up but Glover keeps it at a distance.

enabling Glover to counter with a crisp jab.
Mike Sotiropoulos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Glover closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Sotiropoulos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Glover. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Glover has an Americana. Sotiropoulos didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Glover is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Glover hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Russell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Russell connects with a looping right hand.
Menezes looks for a takedown but Russell sprawls well.
Menezes tries for a takedown but Russell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Menezes needs to keep his hands up - Russell had a free shot at his head there.
Menezes shoots in but no luck this time.
Buck Russell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Menezes.

Charles Menezes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Russell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Menezes on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Russell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Alexander makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Winchester really felt that one!
