The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryan doesn't succeed with the takedown

and le Roux counters with a shoot takedown. Bryan fights it but they end up in guard.
le Roux postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
le Roux stands and throws Bryan's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bryan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Bryan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but le Roux manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bryan has le Roux in his guard.

I think Carlos might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nego drama. The crowd seem to be enjoying Marreta's choice of entrance music: Sabao Cra Cra. Joao Carlos has the better chin. Marreta throws a nice looking combination but Carlos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Carlos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marreta sprawls well. Marreta wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Carlos gets slowly back to his feet.
