The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Liddell.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick
and Liddell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Jones is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Liddell buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Liddell.

Liddell lands a high kick to the side of Jones's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Liddell dives into guard, looking to finish.

It looks like Matt Jones has been cut.
Jones could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Liddell controls from within his opponent's guard.

and Jayme counters with a three punch combo that has Judo backing up. Judo nods at Jayme to acknowledge the strikes.
Judo fails with the takedown
and Jayme counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jayme lands with a shot to the body.
Judo looks gassed!

Judo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jayme wants to get back to his feet but Judo drags him back down.
Jayme sneaks back into half guard.

Judo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jayme has managed to free his arm - good work.

Judo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jayme sees it coming and defends easily.

Judo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Judo seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Jayme has recovered full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Judois looking to pass into half guard but Jayme pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jayme is in guard.

Judo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jayme escapes and throws Judo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Judo is looking for a sweep.
Jayme remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jayme has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

You can see the frustration on Judo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A lull in the action here as Jayme stalls from top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Jayme uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Judo has time to react.
Judo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jayme finds it's way round the side to connect with Judo's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jayme connects with a body shot that sends Judo's belly button to the back.
Jayme dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jayme stalks Judo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Judo's face. Judo staggers backwards, shaken.
