Kid throws a predictable looking body shot
and Bastard counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kid thinking.
Kid takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kid throws a shot from downtown. Bastard moves away and avoids it.
Ol Bastard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bastard gets a clinch.
Bastard pushes Kid back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bastard lands a hook that snaps the head of Kid backwards.
Bastard lands an uppercut.

Kid has Bastard pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kid pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bastard tumbling to the mat - Kid dives into Bastard's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kid remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kid goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bastard has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kid but great work by Bastard.

Bastard is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Kid off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kid is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bastard to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bastard shrugs it off.

Hartman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Old Papi is just riding it out for now. Hartman eventually gives up the hold.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Old Papi can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Old Papi is looking to stand back up but Hartman counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Old Papi.
Hartman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hartman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
