Murphy's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Murphy scrambles back to his feet.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boris Balkan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balkan tries to land a front kick but Andersoon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Andersoon throws a head kick that misses.
Balkan tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Andersoon counter with a right hand.

and Balkan counters with a head kick that drops Andersoon to the mat! Andersoon scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Balkan clinches with his opponent.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Andersoon.
Andersoon with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Andersoon lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

It looks like Boris Balkan has been cut.

Andersoon manages to break the clinch.
Andersoon walks straight into a right hand from Balkan - that's dropped him! Balkan jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Andersoon from any more punishment! Andersoon complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Boris Balkan! Boris Balkan retains his heavyweight title!
